The Alcorcón City Council has approved a budget of 670,000 euros in subsidies for local sports associations to promote physical activity and participation in official non-professional competitions.

The Local Government Board of Alcorcón has greenlit financial aid for the municipality's sports entities. These subsidies aim to foster sports practice and facilitate participation in official non-professional competitions during the upcoming season.
Carmen Martín, Councilor for Youth, Diversity, Technological Innovation, and Sport, highlighted the council's commitment to local sports. "Once again, our commitment to sports and support for sports entities is demonstrated through actions and effective initiatives: we are allocating 670,000 euros in subsidies for our male and female athletes," she stated.
Martín recalled the municipal government's promise to provide at least 600,000 euros annually for sports entities, with plans to increase this amount. "This year, we will allocate 600,000 euros to grassroots sports and 70,000 euros to elite teams, which require specific aid due to the high costs of their sporting activities," she explained.
Additionally, 30,000 euros will be dedicated to specific women's sports scholarships. These grants will be awarded directly to support female athletes for the 2026-2027 season.
The application period for these subsidies will open following their publication in the Official Gazette of the Community of Madrid (BOCM). It is anticipated that over 40 sports clubs and entities, representing more than 17,000 athletes across various disciplines, will be eligible. The Department of Sports has expressed its readiness to address any queries from interested clubs.
