The transport company Arriva has launched a modern depot in Alcorcón, equipped to charge nearly 50 electric buses, reinforcing its commitment to sustainable mobility in the region.

The new facility, named “Arriva Pintores,” is located next to the company's headquarters in the municipality of Alcorcón. This space is designed to operate a fully electric bus fleet in the south of the Community of Madrid, with a capacity to house up to 47 such vehicles.
The inauguration took place last Monday and was attended by the mayor of Alcorcón, as well as the regional minister of Housing, Transport, and Infrastructure, and the CEO of Arriva in Spain. The depot features 47 parking spaces, all equipped with specific charging points for electric buses, which increases the company's operational capacity and underscores its dedication to the decarbonization of public transport.

"This project consolidates a key charging network for the deployment of a zero-emission fleet in the region."

The project is part of an electrification plan that Arriva has been promoting since 2020, adding to other existing infrastructures in Alcorcón and Móstoles. In addition to the charging points, the new depot incorporates intelligent energy management systems, control and supervision tools to optimize operational safety and vehicle logistics.
An innovative aspect of the facility is the creation of specific areas for driving personnel, including rest areas and services. These areas partially benefit from solar energy, thanks to the installation of photovoltaic panels on the premises, reinforcing the project's environmental commitment.
