The Civil Guard has carried out a significant anti-drug operation in the Madrid municipalities of Villa del Prado and Navas del Rey. The operation concluded with the arrest of twelve individuals and the seizure of over 24 kilograms of cannabis buds, in addition to the dismantling of two plantations located in residential properties.
The arrested individuals, seven men and five women aged between 20 and 58, have been brought before the courts. They are accused of alleged crimes of drug trafficking, electricity fraud, and belonging to a criminal organization, as reported by the Civil Guard.
During the searches conducted, agents discovered a total of 24,065 grams of cannabis buds. Furthermore, fully equipped facilities capable of housing over 10,000 plants, from the seeding phase, were found. The homes featured an artisanal system designed for the germination and propagation of seeds and cuttings in their initial stages.
The investigation began at the start of the year thanks to citizen collaboration. Several alerts received at the Civil Guard post in Navas del Rey reported suspicious movements in a dwelling located in an isolated urbanization. Following this information, agents confirmed that the individuals involved had completely isolated the property and equipped it with filtering systems to reduce noise and odors. Additionally, the alleged ringleaders took extreme security measures during their movements, using rental vehicles that they frequently renewed to avoid detection.
The inquiries led to the location of a second single-family home in Villa del Prado, which had been entirely adapted to maximize marijuana production. The group maintained constant surveillance over this property, and at the time of the intervention, it was in the process of harvesting drying plants, ready for distribution. During the operation, agents also detected an illegal connection to the electricity grid and an advanced video surveillance system that monitored both the interior of the dwelling and its exterior perimeter.
