The Sierra del Rincón Biosphere Reserve hosted the La Rinconada March, an event combining sport and discovery of natural and cultural heritage, attended by the Minister of the Presidency.

The town of La Hiruela, in the Community of Madrid, was the setting this Saturday for the La Rinconada March, an initiative aimed at showcasing the rich natural and cultural heritage of the Sierra del Rincón Biosphere Reserve. The event brought together numerous residents and visitors in this protected area.
The Minister of the Presidency, Justice, and Local Administration, Miguel Ángel García Martín, actively participated in the day. The march, which rotates its location annually among the reserve's municipalities (La Hiruela, Horcajuelo de la Sierra, Madarcos, Montejo de la Sierra, Prádena del Rincón, and Puebla de la Sierra), aims to involve the entire region in its promotion.
Attendees had the opportunity to choose from three routes of varying difficulty: a short one of 1.35 kilometers, a medium one of 2.20 kilometers, and a more challenging one of 6.55 kilometers. These options allowed people of all ages and physical conditions to enjoy the activity and the surroundings.
After completing the route, García Martín, who also serves as spokesperson for the Regional Government, presented awards to the participants who finished the march. During his speech, the minister highlighted the success of the area's inhabitants in maintaining a balance between environmental conservation and local economic development, demonstrating the compatibility of environmental protection and rural life.
