The forest fire in Lozoyuela, which has burned approximately 770 hectares, has entered a stabilization phase with no active flames, allowing the lifting of confinement in Buitrago and Puentes Viejas.

The Minister of Environment, Agriculture, and Interior, Carlos Novillo, reported this Friday that there are no "active flames" and the affected area is provisionally estimated at around 770 hectares. Despite the improvement, operational situation 2 of the INFOMA Plan remains in place, as the incident is not yet "controlled".
Novillo warned of a complex day ahead due to forecasts of increased wind from midday and high temperatures. Special attention will be paid to potential flare-ups, especially in areas where the fire passed quickly without fully burning the wooded areas.
The operational deployment includes 28 ground units and nine aerial units available. No personal injuries or material damage have been reported. Consequently, the confinement in Puentes Viejas and Buitrago has been lifted, while surveillance continues in Cinco Villas without risk.
The minister explained that the affected hectare count might decrease, as many areas experienced "rapid fire passes" without being fully burned. He stated, "At this hour, we are optimistic but very cautious," confirming that no protected natural areas have been affected.
