The Soto del Real City Council has initiated two public space improvement projects in the Los Morales street area, with a total investment of 142,896.45 euros, aimed at renovating the park and pedestrianizing the street.
The actions aim to improve accessibility, encourage walking, and create a more pleasant environment in the town center. The park renovation, covering approximately 720 m², includes improvements to the pavement, access points, perimeter wall, trees, and street furniture, along with gardening works exceeding 6,000 euros. Passages will be opened in the perimeter wall to increase pedestrian permeability and improve access from various points, including from Mesón street.
The pedestrianization of Los Morales street will transform the road with same-level paving to facilitate pedestrian transit and strengthen the connection with San Sebastián and Real streets, which are in the more pedestrian-friendly central area of the municipality. Works include demolition, new surface execution, drainage infrastructure, and street furniture installation. The last remaining underground container area in the municipality will be removed, providing more space, continuity, and accessibility to the sidewalk. Removable bollards will be installed to allow traffic closure when necessary, turning it into a fully pedestrian zone, enabling flexible use and better conditions for outdoor dining and events.
During the pedestrianization works, Los Morales street will be closed to traffic and parking, with alternative routes provided for vehicles and pedestrians. Waste containers have been relocated to Avenida de Chozas, opposite the Health Center.
