The town of Valdemorillo has highlighted its concern about the traffic situation, a central topic in the recent meeting between municipal officials and the Director General of Roads of the Community of Madrid, Natalia Quintana. During the meeting, progress on the preparatory studies for the new Madrid Southwest Highway (AMS), which will connect Valdemorillo with Navalcarnero and extend to Griñón (M-404), was detailed.
“"The new Madrid Southwest Highway, such an important project for the Community of Madrid, truly provides a solution to Valdemorillo's traffic problems and we see it become a reality in the short term."
The mayor, accompanied by the Councillor for Security, Environment, and Urban Maintenance, emphasized the need for this infrastructure to be a priority for the municipality, hoping it will materialize in the short term. Currently, work is underway on the Environmental Impact Statement (DIA) for the section from the M-503 to the entrance of Valdemorillo.
In addition to the highway, more immediate measures have been proposed to alleviate congestion. These include improving signage in the most critical areas and implementing provisional actions to reduce traffic jams at the town's entrances and exits to the M-600. Improvements to the safety of the regional roads M-959 and M-510, which cross the municipal area, were also discussed.
