The Floridablanca Cultural Association, in collaboration with the City Council, is organizing this event that will transform various locations within the municipality into meeting points for poets and literature enthusiasts. The program features recitals, music, a theatricalized poetic walk, an open mic session, and a contest where attendees will judge the poems.
The opening day, Saturday, September 19, will commence at 11:00 AM at the Plaza de Jacinto Benavente, in front of the Casa de Cultura, with the gathering of participants. At 11:30 AM, the inaugural reading and program presentation will take place, led by writer Daniel Mustieles, followed by the first poem readings.
Starting at 11:45 AM, poetry will spill into the streets with a theatricalized poetic walk. Participants will recite their poems at various stops along the route, after a brief introduction by the guide.
After a lunch break, activities will resume at 6:00 PM in the Patio de la Casa de Cultura with the festival's main recital. Poetic readings will be interspersed with musical performances, and the festival's newspaper will be distributed to the audience. The first day will conclude at 8:00 PM.
On Sunday, September 20, the Casa de Cultura will host a poetry gathering with an open mic session starting at 11:30 AM, accompanied by musical performances.
At 12:30 PM, the Poetry Contest will begin, where the audience will play a leading role. Attendees will score each poem using colored ballots, and the composition with the highest score will receive a diploma and a commemorative gift.
This initiative aims to offer an intimate and participatory poetry experience, connected to the municipality's emblematic spaces and streets, fostering interaction between authors and the public.
