Students in San Lorenzo de El Escorial, from 1st year of Early Childhood Education to 6th year of Primary Education, can participate once again this year in the “Patios Abiertos” (Open Yards) program. The initiative will commence on October 1st at CEIP Antoniorrobles and CEIP San Lorenzo.
The main objective of this initiative is to facilitate the use of schoolyards outside of regular school hours, transforming them into safe, accessible, and meeting spaces for children. The program is promoted by the Community of Madrid and co-financed by the same institution and the Municipal Council of San Lorenzo de El Escorial.
During the 2026-2027 academic year, the playgrounds of both educational centers will be open from October to May, exclusively on school days, between 4:00 PM and 5:30 PM. During this time, children can freely use the facilities under the supervision of monitors.
No directed activities will be organized, as the program's purpose is to provide students with a space for meeting and coexistence at the end of the school day. The activity is completely free and offers 40 available spots at each school. These spots will be allocated strictly in order of registration.
The registration period will be open until September 22nd. Applications must be sent via email to [educacion@aytosanlorenzo.es](mailto:educacion@aytosanlorenzo.es), attaching the duly completed registration form. Between September 23rd and 28th, families will receive confirmation of their admission to the activity via email.
For further information, you can consult the “Programa Patios Abiertos” section on the municipal website or contact the Education Department at 91 890 29 41, or visit their offices at Francisco Muñoz street, 2, upper floor.
