The Local Government Board of Moralzarzal has approved initiating the process to name 'Pradera Antonio Zárate' an area that includes the urban gardens and the adjacent Vía Berrocal street, in recognition of the work of Antonio López Hurtado, known as Zárate, in preserving local history.

Antonio López Hurtado, known as Zárate, born in Madrid in 1943, has been honored by the council of Moralzarzal. Following a professional career at Standard Eléctrica S.A., this telecommunications engineer has dedicated his retirement to researching and protecting the municipality's history, gathering information on traditional trades, local customs, and the heritage that defines the community.
A significant portion of the historical archive created by Zárate is available on his website, [www.conocermoralzarzal.es](https://www.conocermoralzarzal.es/), allowing anyone to explore the rich history of Moralzarzal. Furthermore, he has authored and co-authored several essential publications for understanding local identity, including titles such as 'Moralzarzal', 'Crónicas del agua' (Chronicles of Water), 'Recursos Patrimoniales de Moralzarzal' (Heritage Resources of Moralzarzal), 'El Mundo Rural en Moralzarzal' (The Rural World in Moralzarzal), and 'La Enseñanza en Moralzarzal' (Education in Moralzarzal), along with nearly ten books dedicated to old trades.
The idea to honor Antonio Zárate's work gained momentum after the presentation of his book 'El Mundo Rural en Moralzarzal' on October 6th, where Mayor José Mª Moreno expressed the Government team's intention to dedicate a street to him. The proposal came to life during the recent presentation of 'La Enseñanza en Moralzarzal', at which point Zárate expressed his emotion when referring to the chosen space, the future Pradera Antonio Zárate, receiving a standing ovation from the audience.
