The Moralzarzal City Council, in collaboration with the Sierra Sonora Musicians Association, has presented the 2026 edition of the rock music competition MoralRock, aiming to foster youth creation with renewed awards.

The competition, now in its 23rd edition, is consolidating as a platform for cultural and musical promotion among young people. This year, the jury will select one winning band in two categories: Young Category (members under 35 years old) and Senior Category (youngest member aged 35 or over). The winners will have the opportunity to perform as opening acts on October 10, 2026, at the Covered Bullring of Moralzarzal.
This edition's novelties include significant improvements in prizes. The winner of the Young Category will receive 500 euros in cash and an additional prize valued at 300 euros in musical equipment, provided by the Sierra Sonora Musicians Association. The winner of the Senior Category will also receive 500 euros. Furthermore, a Local Prize of 200 euros is established for the Young Category, exclusively for bands with at least one member registered in the municipality of Moralzarzal, requiring a certificate of registration.
The registration period for non-professional bands from across Spain will be open from June 1 to June 28. Interested participants must submit their demos and administrative documentation digitally via Wetransfer to juventud@moralzarzal.es, with the subject line “MoralRock 2026”. Required documentation includes three original musical files in MP3 format, a list of tracks and their lyrics, a dossier with personal details, a scanned copy of the DNI (both sides), instruments of each member, a band biography, a current photograph, and, if applying for the local prize, an updated certificate of registration.
Throughout its history, the MoralRock festival has hosted numerous emerging bands, sharing the stage with renowned artists such as Obus, La Fuga, Despistaos, Reincidentes, Saratoga, Rosendo, Barricada, Barón Rojo, Medina Azahara, and Porretas.
