The Moralzarzal City Council, through its Youth Department and in collaboration with the Sierra Sonora Musicians Association, has announced the return of the MoralRock Music Contest, a well-established platform for youth cultural creation.

The contest, now in its 23rd edition, aims to boost emerging talent in the rock music scene. This year introduces new categories to accommodate different musician profiles and features significant improvements in prizes, both monetary and in musical equipment.
Two main categories have been established: the Young Category, for groups with members under 35 years old, and the Senior Category, for bands where the youngest member is 35 or older. The winning groups from both categories will have the opportunity to perform as opening acts for a renowned band on October 10, 2026, at the Covered Bullring of Moralzarzal.
Regarding the prizes, the winner of the Young Category will receive 500.00 euros in cash and an additional prize of 300.00 euros in musical equipment, courtesy of the Sierra Sonora Musicians Association. The winner of the Senior Category will also receive 500.00 euros. Additionally, a Local Prize valued at 200.00 euros will be awarded to the Young Category band with at least one member registered in Moralzarzal.
Non-professional bands interested in participating must submit their demos and administrative documentation digitally via Wetransfer to [email protected] before midnight on June 28, 2026. It is essential to include 'MoralRock 2026' in the email subject line. The complete rules for submitting applications are available for consultation.
