The Community of Madrid presents the satirical exhibition 'The Ship of Fools' at the Casa de Cultura Alfonso X el Sabio in Guadarrama, open until July 8.

The exhibition, featuring illustrations by Ana G. Lartitegui, offers a humorous and absurd narrative inspired by works from artists such as Bosch and Brueghel. Organized in collaboration with the Municipal Library Arcipreste de Hita of Guadarrama, the show consists of 16 reproductions that invite reflection through the allegory of a aimless journey.
As part of the parallel activities, a storytelling session for children aged 6 and up will take place on July 1. A medieval minstrel will guide participants through games, crafts, and riddles, enabling them to create their own characters and build a 'Paradise of Fools'.

"A "most beautiful rarity" accompanied by an activity for the youngest members of the family."

The exhibition, which has already received the VII Award for the Exhibition of Children's and Youth Books, also alludes to details from famous paintings and serves as an introduction to Flemish painting of the 15th and 16th centuries. Works by José Manuel Ballester from his series 'Hidden Spaces' are also integrated into the children's activity.
Those interested in attending the storytelling event must register before June 27 by sending an email to [[email protected]](/cdn-cgi/l/email-protection#d5b7bcb7b9bcbaa1b0b6b4b2a0b4b1b4a7a7b4b8b495b2a0b4b1b4a7a7b4b8b4fbb0a6) with the participant's full name, age, and phone number. Places are limited and will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
The exhibition can be visited from Monday to Friday, between 4:00 PM and 9:00 PM, until July 8.
