Since 2018, Colmenarejo has been actively involved in cleanup and volunteer activities in the area surrounding the Valmayor reservoir, demonstrating a strong commitment to protecting its natural spaces.
This initiative has also seen the participation of local youth. In 2021, first-year ESO students from the IES Gregorio Peces-Barba joined a waste collection day at Valmayor for subsequent recycling.
The recognition highlights the collaborative work with various entities and municipalities, including the Albacete City Council, Manzanares Real City Council, Limpiemos Burguillo, Galp, Ilunion, Taco Bell, Tierra Burrito, and Cines Yelmo, all sharing a common commitment to the environment.
The council expresses gratitude to all individuals, volunteers, entities, and collaborators who make the continuous care of the environment possible year after year, emphasizing that 'caring for Colmenarejo is caring for our future'.
