The railway company Renfe has started the works of the Plan A Punto at the Galapagar‑La Navata station, in the Community of Madrid. The project has a budget close to 488,000 euros and the interventions are estimated to last approximately seven and a half months. The main objective is to increase traveler comfort and accessibility.
The tasks will include punctual demolitions and cleanings to ensure user safety. The lighting system in the car park will be completely renovated, replacing the existing lampposts with 11 new units. Furthermore, the pedestrian access will be reconfigured by demolishing the current ramp and constructing new accessible slopes. The fence gate will also be replaced, and an external lowering with tactile pathways and adequate drainage will be built.
On platform 2, work will be carried out on both shelters, including the replacement of glass and vinyl, as well as the installation of new lighting. Additionally, the pedestrian walkway will be conditioned with new emergency lights and additional points on the bridge over the tracks, as detailed by Renfe.
These improvements are part of the Plan A Punto, which will allocate a total of 4.8 million euros to intervene in 16 Cercanías stations in Madrid. The first package of actions includes works in Galapagar, Las Rozas, Guadalajara, Pirámides, and Nuevos Ministerios, with the latter having an estimated duration of four and a half months.
This plan, in turn, integrates into a larger national project that will cover 110 Cercanías and Ancho Métrico stations between 2026 and 2027. The overall investment for this program, described by Renfe as "high impact" and aimed at improving service quality, amounts to 24.8 million euros over 18 months.
