The Pozuelo de Alarcón City Council has opened the call for the XI National Painting Contest, offering prizes of €4,000 and €1,500, with entries accepted until June 12th.

The contest, which seeks to promote contemporary art and provide visibility to national creators, will award two monetary prizes. The first prize is €4,000, and the second is €1,500. Each participant may submit a maximum of three works, provided they have not won previous contests.
Registration began this Monday at 10:00 AM and will close on June 12th at 2:00 PM. Interested artists can submit their applications and documentation at the MIRA Cultural Center from Monday to Friday, between 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM, and from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. On the final day, submissions will only be accepted in the morning.
Alternatively, applications can be processed through the municipal electronic headquarters. The selected finalist works will be part of an exhibition planned for the autumn, from which the winning pieces will be chosen.
The selection results will be communicated to the artists on June 24th. The jury will include Dolores Tomás, president of the Surikov Foundation; Catalina Ruiz, artist and professor at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the Complutense University; and David Trullo, art critic and independent curator.
This eleventh edition reinforces the municipality's commitment to promoting contemporary art, combining rigorous selection with significant financial awards for the winners.
