The City Council of Collado Villalba, along with educational centers and local entities, is organizing the XIII School Coexistence Best Practices Conference on May 28th, focusing on emotional well-being and intergenerational coexistence.

The City Council of Collado Villalba, in collaboration with the School Coexistence Best Practices Group, is holding a new edition of its annual conferences dedicated to the educational community. The event will take place on Thursday, May 28th, at the Centro Cultural Peñalba, and is aimed at families, teachers, students, support staff, and social entities in the town.
Under a motto inspired by Eduardo Galeano, this year's edition will focus on highlighting the importance of emotional well-being and promoting intergenerational coexistence through projects developed in classrooms. A distinctive feature of these conferences is the active participation of students, who will personally explain how they foster cooperation, conflict resolution, and mutual support among peers.
The program will begin at 4:30 PM with the reception of attendees and the official inauguration by the mayor, Mariola Vargas, and representatives of the Coexistence Group. Throughout the afternoon, round tables will be held with the participation of local educational centers such as CEIP Miguel Delibes, CEIP El Enebral, CEIP Cañada Real, CEIP Rosa Chacel, CEIP Tierno Galván, IES Jaime Ferrán, and IES María Guerrero, as well as invited institutes from the Community of Madrid. These discussions will address crucial topics such as child and adolescent mental health, inclusion, gender equality, and the prevention of school bullying.
The musical closing will be performed by the choir of IES Jaime Ferrán, followed by a coexistence snack offered by the council. Additionally, the Centro Cultural Peñalba will host an exhibition of intergenerational crafts by the Asociación la IAIA and a display of posters on alternative activities in high schools.
Attendance is free until full capacity is reached, but requires prior registration through the municipal website. As a solidarity contribution, attendees are asked to bring non-perishable food items (milk, juices, cookies, muffins, or cereals) which will be donated to families supported by Aldeas Infantiles.
