A total of 34 unemployed individuals have started working this week for the Collado Villalba City Council as part of the Professional Activation Program, an initiative that combines training and work practice.

The Collado Villalba City Council has launched a new edition of the Professional Activation Program, hiring 34 unemployed individuals. The initiative, which combines training in transversal skills with work practice, focuses on profiles with high local demand, such as cleaners, construction workers, painters, electricians, carpenters, and blacksmiths.
The mayor, Mariola Vargas, and the Councilor for Works and Services, Ramón Pavón, welcomed the participants in the City Council's Plenary Hall. Vargas emphasized that the choice of these profiles responds to citizen demand for "fixed sidewalks and clean buildings," and recalled the citizen communication channel via WhatsApp at 648 670 154.
This program, developed by the Local Development and Human Resources departments, is supported by a grant exceeding 627,000 euros from the Community of Madrid and the State Public Employment Service, in addition to a municipal contribution of nearly 180,000 euros.
The main objective is to promote the employment of unemployed individuals in occupations related to their qualifications, by carrying out activities of public or social interest. The work will include repairs in neighborhoods such as El Gorronal, Villalba Pueblo, and the Estación area, as well as electrical work and the installation of LED streetlights. Repairs will also be carried out in the municipality's schools during the summer holidays.
Participants will also receive complementary training in 'Personal and Social Skills for Employment' (40 hours) and 'Environmental Awareness and Good Employment Practices' (50 hours), contributing to the continuous downward trend in registered unemployment in Collado Villalba.
