The City Council of Collado Villalba is organizing the second edition of RockIn' Sierra, a rock concert to be held this Friday, May 22nd, at the Carpa de La Malvaloca. The show, starting at 9:30 PM, is free to enter until full capacity is reached and is presented as the biggest rock event in the Madrid region.
This event, promoted by the Department of Culture in collaboration with the BuenaVida Drum and Percussion School, will feature a large rock band composed of musicians of various ages and skill levels. Participants from municipal and private schools, amateurs, and professionals will unite their talents in a live performance including drums, guitars, bass, keyboards, and vocals.
The mayor of Collado Villalba, Mariola Vargas, along with the Councilor for Culture, Lourdes Cuesta, and the director of the Drum and Percussion School, Ignacio Buenavida, presented the event. Violinist Jorge Guillén, known as STRAD, who will perform as a guest artist, also attended the presentation.
Mariola Vargas recalled the success of the first edition in 2025, both in terms of participation and attendance, and expressed confidence that this second edition will meet or exceed expectations.
During the concert, participants will perform seven iconic rock songs, including five classics in English and Spanish, and two tracks with guest artist Jorge Guillén. The repertoire will span hits from the 1960s to the present day, featuring confirmed songs such as 'Sweet Child O' Mine' (Guns N' Roses), 'Entre dos tierras' (Héroes del Silencio), 'Highway to Hell' (AC/DC), 'Fiesta pagana' (Mago de Oz), and 'La vereda de la puerta de atrás' (Extremoduro).
The Councilor for Culture, Lourdes Cuesta, highlighted the collaboration of all involved in making possible "a great show that will bring together a large number of musicians from the entire area to play together and create the largest rock band in the entire Sierra."
