The initiative, driven by the Commerce and Public Services departments, aims to strengthen coexistence, cleanliness, and waste management within the municipality, promoting a more sustainable environment.
The campaign will be rolled out in phases, providing advice on the proper treatment of waste generated daily. This measure is particularly relevant during the summer months, when customer traffic and terrace usage increase.
The initial phase has focused on businesses located around Avenida de Viñuelas and Calle Neptuno, considered one of the main commercial hubs in Tres Cantos. The results of this stage will be analyzed to determine a potential expansion of the program to other areas.
Participating establishments have received visits from municipal staff offering guidance on waste collection services. Additionally, support containers and a recognizing badge identifying them as 'Committed to Responsible Hospitality' have been provided.
The project also includes reinforcing municipal cleaning services, increasing the frequency of bulky waste collection, and implementing weekly container sanitization actions.
Pedro Fernández, councilor for Public Services, stated that specific monitoring and inspection tasks will be carried out to ensure compliance with waste deposit regulations.
Mayor Jesús Moreno emphasized the crucial collaboration between the City Council and the hospitality sector in making Tres Cantos a cleaner and more pleasant city, providing businesses with the necessary tools to balance their operations with public space care and resident well-being.
