The municipality of Tres Cantos has launched the Responsible Hospitality campaign, an initiative aimed at improving waste management and cleanliness in its main restaurant areas.

The campaign, which has already begun its first phase in establishments around Avenida de Viñuelas and Calle Neptuno, seeks to provide hospitality businesses with tools and information to optimize the treatment of waste generated in their daily activities, especially during months with higher customer traffic and terrace usage.
During this initial stage, municipal staff are visiting participating establishments to offer guidance on waste collection services and best practices in recycling, hygiene, and responsible use of public space. Adhering businesses receive support containers and a badge identifying them as 'Local Committed to Responsible Hospitality'.
The initiative also includes measures to strengthen the municipal cleaning service, such as increasing the frequency of the brigade responsible for collecting bulky items and waste upon request, and three weekly container sanitization operations. The goal is to enhance cleanliness, urban image, and coexistence in Tres Cantos through collaboration between the administration and the hospitality sector.
After completing this first phase, the City Council will evaluate registered incidents, the cleanliness status, and the participation level of affiliated establishments to decide on the progressive expansion of the Responsible Hospitality campaign to other dining areas in Tres Cantos.
