The City Council of San Sebastián de los Reyes has approved its first Urban Inspection Plan, a key document for the 2026-2027 period aimed at detecting and correcting irregularities.

The municipality of San Sebastián de los Reyes has given the green light to its first Urban Inspection Plan. This pioneering document will establish the guidelines and actions for urban inspection and discipline during the years 2026 and 2027, with the primary objective of identifying potential infringements and ensuring compliance with current regulations throughout the municipal area.
This new plan defines priority goals within the municipal powers regarding urban planning, serving as an essential planning tool for the control and monitoring to be carried out by the council's services.
One of the plan's main focuses is the protection of non-developable land, with special attention to areas under some form of special protection. Works and activities lacking licenses or urban planning permits will be monitored, as well as uses incompatible with regulations. Measures will also be taken to prevent illegal subdivisions and the formation of new settlements on non-developable land.
The plan also includes the creation of inventories of existing buildings on non-developable land for their correct classification and legal regime. Furthermore, constructions that are out of compliance with regulations will be controlled to ensure no unauthorized extensions are made or activities are carried out without permission.
