Colmenar Viejo is preparing to transform its streets into a large urban circuit next Sunday, June 7th, for its traditional Bicycle Festival, a free event promoting sustainable mobility and community coexistence.

The Sports Department is organizing this non-competitive cycling tour, designed to encourage healthy lifestyles and the use of bicycles as an ecological means of transport. Participation is free but requires prior registration through the YouEvent platform by Friday, June 5th.
Three routes have been established, adapted to different ages and experience levels. The main route, spanning 12 kilometers, will start at 10:00 AM from Avenida de los Toros, combining asphalt and low-difficulty dirt paths, with the finish line at El Cerrillo Park. This route is intended for cyclists and families accustomed to riding, prioritizing enjoyment and community over competition.
For the youngest participants, there will be a 3-kilometer children's route starting at 10:10 AM, entirely on urban roads and requiring adult accompaniment. Additionally, children under 6 will have a skill circuit and games on the esplanade of El Cerrillo Park from 11:30 AM, using bicycles, scooters, and adapted equipment.
The day will be complemented at El Cerrillo Park with a children's play area and road safety workshops for children aged 3 and up. Specialized monitors will lead games, group dynamics, and skill circuits, fostering camaraderie and healthy outdoor entertainment.

"The Bicycle Festival is a popular sporting celebration that promotes cycling and citizen participation. It will be a day open to all ages, fostering healthy lifestyles, sustainable mobility, and coexistence among neighbors."
