The Juan Antonio Samaranch Municipal Sports City, located on Juan Pablo II Avenue in Colmenar Viejo, will be the venue for this solidarity initiative. The program includes a variety of sports activities designed for all ages, with prices ranging from 5 to 30 euros, depending on the chosen option.
The funds raised during the weekend will be used to finance the free services that the foundation offers to nearly 200 oncology patients currently attended at its local headquarters. The goal is to expand this number and continue providing comprehensive support.
On Saturday, May 9th, the day will begin with a yoga session at 9:00 AM, followed by a paddle tennis tournament and a Nordic walking route. Indoor cycling and Zumba classes will also be offered. To conclude the day, a solidarity paella will be organized from 2:00 PM, accompanied by a market, UAPO Foundation store, concert, and raffle.
On Sunday, May 10th, activities will move to the golf courses with a tournament running from 9:30 AM to 3:00 PM. Registrations for this tournament are made in person at the reception of Mistral Samaranch.
Registrations for Saturday's activities have been open since April 8th and close on Friday, June 6th, although some have already reached full capacity. They can be made through the YouEvent.es platform. Participants are required to arrive 15 minutes before the start of each activity. The organization has stated that, due to the charitable nature of the event, no refunds or cancellations are accepted.
The UAPO Foundation is a non-profit organization that provides comprehensive and free support to oncology patients, focusing on nutrition, psychology, physical preparation, and physiotherapy. The Open Day is one of its main initiatives to secure funding and raise awareness of its work in the northern area of Madrid. Those unable to attend can contribute through donations to bank account ES71 2100 2175 7302 0085 3609, indicating “Donación Open Day” in the concept.
