Alcobendas is joining the celebration of the Spanish Formula 1 Grand Prix, taking place from September 11th to 13th, by offering its residents the chance to experience the competition through three driving simulators.

The Community of Madrid is promoting the 'Madrid with the Motor' initiative to bring the Spanish Formula 1 Grand Prix closer to all fans. As part of this celebration, Alcobendas, recognized as the Best European City of Sport 2025, has installed three driving simulators at the Valdelasfuentes Sports City.
Two of the simulators are state-of-the-art, while a third has been developed by the MAD Fórmula team from the Carlos III University of Madrid. The Minister of Presidency, Justice, and Local Administration, Miguel Ángel García Martín, visited these facilities, highlighting the involvement of Madrid's municipalities in promoting the sporting event.
The mayor of Alcobendas, Rocío García Alcántara, emphasized the city's proximity to the Valdebebas circuit and the Grand Prix's economic impact, with hotels at 90% occupancy and the creation of approximately 10,000 jobs, many of which will benefit local residents.
These activities are part of a broader program extending to seven other municipalities in the region, including children's contests, musical performances, exhibitions, and 'Fan Zones'. Towns like Villa del Prado will feature drawing contests and single-seater assembly workshops, while Las Rozas will host a 'Fan Zone' in collaboration with Carlos Sainz Karting.
Arroyomolinos will present F1 Cockpit simulators and a Formula Nissan, and Paracuellos de Jarama will exhibit Santiago Martín Cantero's Formula 1430, along with an F1 simulator. Leganés will host festive activities and giant screen broadcasts, and La Cabrera will dedicate a day in the Sierra Norte to Formula 1 with simulators and music.
These initiatives complement already held events, such as the 15th Concours d'Elegance for classic cars and motorcycles in Valdemorillo, which showcased 200 vintage vehicles.
