Just days before the start of the May 2026 Patron Saint Festivities, the Cobeña council has reported modifications to two of the most prominent events. These changes, affecting the float parade and bullfighting events, have been made for organizational reasons, without implying cancellations or reductions in activities.
The traditional float parade, one of the most anticipated moments, will follow a different route than initially planned. The procession will start from Barranco del Agua Avenue and proceed along Jarama Street, Camino de Madrid, Olivo Street, Mercado Street, and Álamos Street. It will then continue along Guadalajara Avenue, Olivar Street, Covachuelas Street, and Rasillo Street, concluding in the Plaza de la Villa.
The bullfighting events, scheduled for Friday, May 8, and Saturday, May 9, also feature new schedules and formats. The structure will be identical for both days, divided into two distinct shifts. In the morning, at 12:00 PM, the bull run will take place with three bulls, immediately followed by the release of three heifers in the Plaza de Toros. In the afternoon, at 5:00 PM, children's ox transhumance will be held on Encierro Street, and at 5:30 PM, the popular bullfighting with three bulls and three cows will begin in the Plaza de Toros.
“"The rest of the general program for the May 2026 Festivities remains unchanged. The other events planned in the official program will continue to be held on the dates, times, and locations initially announced."
The Town Council has expressed gratitude for the understanding of residents and visitors regarding these last-minute modifications and has urged everyone to enjoy the festivities responsibly and respectfully. The May Patron Saint Festivities are a key event that revitalizes the municipality, combining tradition, popular culture, and civic participation.
