The event, held at the Paco de Lucía Municipal Auditorium, was presided over by the local mayor, Rocío García. This annual recognition by the city council distinguishes the work of civil protection members, security and emergency professionals, and institutions for their public service.
During the ceremony, homage was also paid to organizations and companies that actively collaborated in assisting people displaced by the fire in the Sierra Oeste last July. Alcobendas was one of the municipalities that established temporary shelters to accommodate evacuated residents.
