The initiative aims to introduce students to the lives and works of prominent figures from the country. The Governing Council has approved the production of 16,500 paper copies to be distributed among publicly funded educational centers.
The ten educational texts, aimed at students in Primary Education and the early years of Secondary Education, were developed by the Official College of Doctors and Graduates in Philosophy and Letters. They are accompanied by illustrations from Madrid-based author Laura Brenlla, who specializes in children's publications and animation.
The books are dedicated to figures such as Seneca, El Cid, Isabella I of Castile, Hernán Cortés, Charles V, Philip II, Miguel de Cervantes, Diego Velázquez, Francisco de Goya, and Santiago Ramón y Cajal.
Through this collection, the Ministry of Education, Science, and Universities seeks to highlight the careers and significance of these individuals, complementing the content of Spanish History, a key subject in the educational system.
The selection of figures spans different eras and fields, including thought, politics, literature, art, and science, offering students a broader perspective on Spain's historical and cultural heritage.
