The Community of Madrid has initiated the reconstruction of the pedestrian overpass at kilometer 3.7 of the M-500 highway, after it suffered damage on August 22nd due to a truck impact.

The total investment for this project amounts to €412,000, with an estimated execution period of approximately three months. The Governing Council has approved the contracts to carry out this necessary work to restore safety and connectivity in the area.
The incident occurred when the loading arm of a truck carrying construction materials struck the central part of the structure, causing damage that led to the restriction of pedestrian access. Emergency work to replace the affected section began on September 8th.
The new structure will allow for the restoration of pedestrian passage between the bus stops located on both sides of the M-500, as well as access to the Real Club de Campo Villa de Madrid and La Cantera, in the Casa de Campo. During the construction period, these points will remain closed to ensure user safety.
To minimize disruption to traffic on the M-500, which carries over 55,000 vehicles daily and connects the M-30, A-6, and M-503, the main works will be carried out at night.
