The Community of Madrid has approved an additional allocation of 29.3 million euros for aid related to pregnancy, birth, or adoption, bringing the total budget for 2026 to 157.6 million euros.

The Governing Council of the Community of Madrid has greenlit an additional financial injection of 29.3 million euros for aid concerning pregnancy, birth, or adoption. With this measure, the total budget for these benefits in 2026 will reach 157.6 million euros.
The regional executive grants an aid of 500 euros per month, extending from the 21st week of pregnancy until the child turns two years old. This amounts to a maximum of 14,500 euros per beneficiary over a period of 29 months. The regulation also includes these aids for adoption cases and, from 2027, for mothers up to 35 years of age inclusive who have a third child.
Regional legislation recognizes the unborn child as an additional member of the family unit for accessing certain benefits from the moment of conception. This calculation applies to benefits that consider per capita income, such as study grants, school meals, and early childhood education, as well as those aimed at young renters.
Consequently, families with two children expecting a third will be considered large families from the 15th week of gestation. This will allow them to benefit from tax advantages, public transport discounts, educational aid, and reduced prices for sports and cultural facilities.
