This center, considered a social benchmark for the care of people with multiple sclerosis, has a multidisciplinary team and offers 158 public places. These places are distributed across residence, day center, and outpatient services.
The 96 residential places provide comprehensive assistance, either permanently or temporarily. The 32 day center places offer care adapted to each user's needs, aiming to foster their capabilities and prevent deterioration. Meanwhile, the 30 outpatient places grant access to therapies at any stage of the disease, primarily speech therapy, occupational therapy, psychology, and physiotherapy.
The center's professionals develop programs focused on personal care, cognitive rehabilitation, and psychological support. They also organize activities to improve mobility, communication, and social skills, as well as training for daily living tasks. Furthermore, assistance is provided to family members and loved ones, and leisure and free time activities are organized. The facilities include rooms for other therapies, hydrotherapy, and sensory stimulation, catering to individuals with a high degree of dependency.
This agreement is part of the regional government's plan to increase the public network for people with disabilities and severe and enduring mental illness by 400 places, reaching a total of 22,300 places next year. Additionally, four new specialized resources will be opened in the coming months, with an investment exceeding 1 million euros.
