The ensemble, formed by Irene Comesaña (piano), Celia Molina Gómez (violin), Esther Fernández Olalla (viola), and Clara Rivière Visier (cello), is characterized by its search for new ideas and formats, with a special interest in performing lesser-known works. The quartet's name honors composer Rosa García Ascot.
The concert program includes world premieres by composers such as Domingo J. Sánchez, Jesús Ángel León, Yvonne Freckmann, Luis Mateo Acín, Jonás Moreno, and Antonio Pérez Olea. The recital will last one hour without an intermission.
The Cuarteto Ascot has developed its 'Fantasía Española' project in various cities and was selected for the AIEnRuta Clásicos 2023 tour. They have also participated in projects to recover Spanish musical heritage and collaborate with the CSIC on the 'Hacedoras de Cultura' project.
The quartet members have solid training. Irene Comesaña studied at Codarts Rotterdam and has performed concertos with orchestras such as the Codarts Symphony Orchestra. Celia Molina trained at Codarts and ESMUC and holds a degree in Art History. Esther Fernández completed her higher studies at the Real Conservatorio Superior de Madrid and Codarts, and is currently a music teacher. Clara Rivière, a psychology graduate from UNED, studied at the Conservatorio Superior de Salamanca and the Royal Conservatory of The Hague.
