Applicants can now consult all information on the official Community of Madrid website. The initiative, promoted by the Ministry of Education, Science and Universities, has a regional investment of 67.3 million euros. Its objectives include reinforcing the freedom of school choice, facilitating work-life balance, and promoting equal opportunities. Enrollment in this non-compulsory stage has been free in all public early childhood centers for eight consecutive years.
These grants are aimed at children born or expected to be born before January 1, 2027, who are enrolled or have a reserved place in a private center authorized for the first cycle of Early Childhood Education. The amounts, ranging between 1,947 and 3,113 euros annually, are calculated based on family income.
In the scoring system, 7 points are awarded to families where both parents work full-time, or if there is a single parent in the same situation, or if one works full-time and the other is unable to care for the child. These same circumstances are valued at 5 points if the work activity is part-time.
Priority has also been given to large families and to individuals with disabilities. The Madrid government facilitates access to these grants for victims of violence against women. Exceptionally, children over 3 years old enrolled in the first cycle of Early Childhood Education with special educational needs accredited by the Early Attention Team may also be eligible.
Grants awarded in the 2025/26 academic year can be extended if beneficiaries have applied and continue to meet the original requirements.
