The Community of Madrid has greenlit the decree defining the labor calendar for 2027. This calendar will feature a total of 14 public holidays, with 12 being regional and the remaining two to be determined by each municipality in the region, in accordance with the Workers' Statute.
The authority to set non-working holiday dates rests with the regional Governing Council. This process involves consultation with parliamentary groups in the Assembly of Madrid, as well as with the region's most representative economic and social entities and institutions.
The approved decree will be sent to the central government with the 12 fixed dates. Subsequently, each city council within the community will be able to add the holidays corresponding to their local traditions or significance.
May 2nd, the Day of the Community of Madrid, retains its holiday status, although this year it falls on a Sunday and will therefore not be counted as an official regional working holiday.
The 12 regional public holidays for the Community of Madrid in 2027 are:

March 19th (Friday): Saint Joseph's Day.
March 25th: Maundy Thursday.
March 26th: Good Friday.
May 1st (Saturday): Labour Day.
August 16th (Monday): Assumption of Mary (transferred).
October 12th (Tuesday): National Day of Spain.
November 1st (Monday): All Saints' Day.
December 6th (Monday): Spanish Constitution Day.
December 8th (Wednesday): Immaculate Conception Day.
December 25th (Saturday): Christmas Day.
January 6th (Wednesday): Epiphany.
