The Secretary of State for Transport and Sustainable Mobility, José Antonio Santano, has signed a Joint Declaration of Intent with the Minister of Industry, Jordi Hereu, and the Executive Vice-President for Prosperity and Industrial Strategy of the European Commission, Stéphane Séjourné. The main objective is to accelerate the implementation of autonomous vehicles across the European continent.
This initiative aims to establish a harmonized framework for the approval, testing, and operation of autonomous vehicles among different European countries. This will facilitate their commercial deployment and promote interoperability within the single market.
