The President of the Community of Madrid has announced the opening of all public summer swimming pools, which will be operational until September 6th with unchanged prices.

The President of the Community of Madrid, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, has officially welcomed the summer, announcing that all public swimming pools in the region are now open to the public. The announcement, shared on the social media platform X, confirms the start of the summer season and access to these recreational facilities.
The four regional public pools —Canal de Isabel II, M86 Swimming Center, San Vicente de Paúl, and Puerta de Hierro Sports Park— opened their doors on May 15th and will remain operational every day of the week, from 11:00 AM to 7:45 PM, until September 6th. For the ninth consecutive year, access fees remain unchanged.
The general admission price is set at five euros per session. There are significant exemptions and discounts: entry is free for individuals with a recognized disability of 33% or higher and their companions, children under three years old, and victims of terrorism. Holders of the regional Youth Card also enjoy free access to three of the four pools, with a 20% discount at M86. Additionally, those over 65, children aged 3 to 13, and large families benefit from a 30% reduction.
These facilities have a combined capacity of approximately 5,000 users, with the Puerta de Hierro Sports Park offering the largest capacity at 2,572 spots. The Community of Madrid recommends purchasing tickets through its registration portal or the DeportesCM mobile app to expedite access.
Meanwhile, the Madrid City Council has also activated its municipal swimming pool season, which will run until September 6th. Currently, 22 out of 25 outdoor pools are operational, with the remaining three expected to open in early June after construction work is completed. These spaces recorded over 2.4 million uses in 2025, solidifying their role as summer meeting points.
Municipal fees remain affordable, with morning, afternoon, or full-day sessions. Prices vary by age and type of pass, with discounts for the unemployed, people with disabilities, and holders of the Abono Deporte Madrid. Ticket purchases are primarily made digitally, with 80% of capacity sold online and the remaining 20% available at the ticket office.
In addition to the swimming pools, the Community of Madrid offers four natural areas suitable for bathing this summer: the San Juan reservoir, Alberche Beach, Las Presillas, and Los Villares. All these areas undergo rigorous hygienic-sanitary controls to ensure water quality.
