The educational landscape in the Community of Madrid is marked by constant regulatory development, both at the state and regional levels. Recent publications detail the basic organizational structure of ministries and regional departments, as well as the curriculum and organization of various educational stages.
At the state level, Organic Law 3/2022 on the organization and integration of Vocational Training remains a central focus, with developments such as Royal Decree 659/2023 and Royal Decree 278/2023 detailing its implementation and timeline. Key regulations for university access, transitions between study plans, and subject allocation in secondary and baccalaureate education have also been updated.
The Community of Madrid, for its part, has issued decrees and orders establishing the organization and curriculum for Primary Education, Compulsory Secondary Education, and Baccalaureate. Instructions have been issued regarding student admission processes, the start of the school year, and the school calendar for the 2023-2024 and 2024-2025 academic years.
Early Childhood Education and the attention to individual differences among students are areas with intense regulatory activity. Decrees on the organization and curriculum of the stage, as well as on educational attention to individual differences, have been updated. Financing modules for collaboration agreements and amounts for school meal prices and monthly food in public centers have been established.
Vocational Training and language, artistic, and sports education have also seen their regulations updated, including scholarship calls and the implementation of bilingual projects. Adult education, as well as the organization and functioning of educational centers, educational inspection, and attention to special educational needs, are other areas covered by the new provisions.
Regarding scholarships, calls have been approved and procedures resolved for Mid and Higher Level Vocational Training, Baccalaureate, the first cycle of Early Childhood Education in private centers, Second Chance Programs, and individualized aid for school transport and school breakfast.
Finally, procedures for the selection and renewal of school principals, as well as for entry and access to teaching bodies, have been announced. Continuous professional development for teachers and the completion of university student internships are also reflected in new orders.
