The initiative, covering July 2nd to 6th with the national demonstration on the 4th, proposes health reinforcements, improvements in public transport, and specific cultural actions to cope with the anticipated high temperatures.
In the health sector, the plan includes establishing continuous care points. Regarding mobility, it requests increasing the frequency of public transport and making Metro and interurban buses free during the central days. Additionally, it asks for the installation of water distribution points and the distribution of hats and fans to mitigate the heat.
Culturally, Más Madrid proposes a specific program linked to the LGTBI community at the Teatros del Canal and that the public bicycle service Bicimad and EMT buses be free of charge.
“"Common-sense measures equivalent to those activated during the papal visit, emphasizing that Pride is 'Madrid's big party' and that LGTBI people commemorating the fight for their rights deserve the same institutional support."
The party recalls the participation of hundreds of thousands of people in Pride, citing precedents such as WorldPride 2017 with over two million attendees and the 2023 national demonstration with 800,000 people. They believe these figures demonstrate the event's social relevance and the need for a public service commensurate with its scale.
