The candidacy defines itself as transversal and focused on citizens' daily problems, seeking to distance itself from national politics and partisan divisions. Higueras explained in an interview that the party aims to offer an alternative to current polarization, focusing on practical solutions for the city.
The project seeks to improve what works and solve aspects that do not benefit all Madrileños, addressing issues such as nursery schools, public transport with long waiting times, and urban cleanliness. Higueras emphasizes the importance of focusing on details and problems that directly affect residents' lives.
Independientes por Madrid will join a federation of independent municipalist parties nationwide. Higueras has informed political figures such as Mayor Almeida, Rita Maestre, and the Socialist Party of her decision, aiming to maintain institutional loyalty.
The candidate highlighted the experience gained during her previous term, particularly in housing, and her intention to resume projects like public housing construction through the Municipal Housing and Land Company (EMVS).
Higueras believes Madrid needs a political option that is not confined to the left-right dichotomy but fosters pacts and collaboration to solve citizens' problems, appealing to voters tired of political confrontation.
