Madrid City Council will invest 1.7 million euros to convert the former headquarters of the Moncloa-Aravaca Municipal Board into a new reading and study room, strategically located in University City and scheduled to open in spring 2027.

The Madrid council has approved the project, which will transform the property located at Calle Princesa, number 98, into a modern space for reading and academic preparation. The renovation work will primarily focus on the right wing of the building, which has remained unoccupied since the municipal offices were relocated.
The municipal spokesperson and deputy mayor, Inma Sanz, highlighted the building's prime location, surrounded by university faculties and a high concentration of students. "We believe it is the best use we could make of that space," Sanz stated, emphasizing the significant demand the new room will have.
This initiative aims to expand the municipal public spaces available for study and research, benefiting the university community and the general public. Through this action, a previously inactive part of the building is being repurposed for citizen use.
