The regional government has authorized a budget increase of 4.5 million euros to enhance the monthly benefit for mothers under 30, bringing the total investment for 2026 in pregnancy, birth, and adoption aid to 125.5 million euros.
This initiative, managed by the Ministry of Family, Youth, and Social Affairs, is part of the regional strategy to boost birth rates and protect motherhood. The aid provides 500 euros per month per child from the 21st week of pregnancy until the child turns two, totaling 14,500 euros over 29 months. The program also extends to adoption cases.
Since its launch in January 2022, the Community of Madrid has approved over 31,000 benefits, investing more than 356.6 million euros. The measure is part of the 2022-2026 Strategy for the Protection of Maternity and Paternity and the Promotion of Birth Rates and Work-Life Balance, which has a total budget of 4.8 billion euros and has achieved approximately 90% of its objectives.
This budgetary reinforcement coincides with a demographic upturn in the region. According to data from the National Statistics Institute, the birth rate in the Community of Madrid grew by 3.3% in 2025 compared to the previous year, significantly exceeding the national average increase of 1%. In 2025, 52,450 births were registered, positioning Madrid as the autonomous community with the highest birth rate growth in Spain.
