Under the slogan ‘Mobility for All People’, the event, which will take place throughout the week, will culminate on Sunday, September 20th, with the Mobility Festival along the Atocha-Cibeles axis. The objective is to transform public space into a showcase for diverse forms of mobility, fostering citizen participation through concepts such as road safety, accessibility, public transport, active mobility, health, and sustainability.
The day aims for citizens to experience sustainable mobility, from learning to cycle to discovering the evolution of EMT Madrid's public transport, which will feature an exhibition of 11 historic buses. Notable among them is the 1948 GUY Arab III, the oldest vehicle in the EMT Museum, alongside emblematic Pegaso models and the electric bus Irizar ieTRAM, as well as an immersive simulation of the future Madrid Cable Car.
Mobility Agents will set up road safety circuits for all ages, including skill tests, safety challenges, and empathy exercises. The Municipal Police will display drones and emergency vehicles, while ReMAD will showcase its mobility exchange platform with bicycles and scooters. Madrid Salud will offer activities on accident prevention, health promotion, and participatory games.
Sport and active mobility will play a significant role with offerings such as the portable gym CuboGym and a roller disco on Paseo del Prado. Environmental Education Centers and Madrid Ambiental will organize workshops, exhibitions, and games on sustainable routes and the relationship between waste and sustainable mobility, including the Recicleta project.
The taxi sector joins in with the Professional Taxi Federation of Madrid, exhibiting historic and current vehicles. Calle 30 will promote safe habits with a large-format game about the M-30, and organizations like STOP Accidentes and the Hiru-Amabi Association will participate in road safety awareness and child protection activities.
The celebration will extend to all districts of Madrid, with activities organized by the municipal boards to bring European Mobility Week to the neighborhoods through exhibitions, bicycle repair workshops, scavenger hunts, and walks, involving the entire city in building a more sustainable future.
