Madrid will be the setting for the LGTBI+ Pride state demonstration on Saturday, July 4, 2026. The march will begin at the Glorieta de Atocha and conclude at Plaza de Colón starting at 7:00 PM.
The march, convened by the State Federation of Lesbians, Gays, Trans, Bisexuals, Intersex, and more (Felgtbi+) and Cogam, will carry the slogan 'To the streets with pride! Dissidence and resistance'. Through this slogan, the organizations aim to advocate for the rights of the community and highlight the challenges that still lie ahead.
Among the main demands for Pride 2026 is the need for effective implementation of recently approved LGTBI+ laws, ensuring they are provided with sufficient resources and real mechanisms for compliance. The convening entities also call for the approval of a State Pact against hate speech and a specific law penalizing conversion therapies with jail sentences.
Furthermore, full recognition of the rights of intersex and non-binary individuals will be demanded, along with measures to ensure effective equality in all areas of life. The mobilization will also focus on defending safe environments in healthcare, education, work, and social spaces, and on eradicating sexile, a phenomenon that forces many to leave their homes to live freely.
“"Although Spain has one of the most advanced LGTBI+ legislations in Europe, we are still far from achieving real equality."
“"Pride was born as a social protest and continues to be an essential tool for defending the rights we have conquered. We are here to say loud and clear that we exist and we will not allow anyone to curtail the rights that took so much effort to win."
The organizing bodies insist that the community's rights are non-negotiable and appeal to citizens to respond with unity against any attempt at regression. The general secretary of Aegal warned of the increase in hate speech and crimes, urging society to actively participate in defending equality. Institutions, unions, neighborhood associations, universities, and social movements have been invited to join the demonstration.
