The event, organized by the regional Bomberos Corps, the Madrid City Council's Bomberos, and the Association of Professionals in Rescue in Traffic Accidents (APRAT), is a crucial event for the training and specialization of emergency services in responding to road incidents.
Regional firefighters carried out 2,279 interventions last year, rescuing 693 people trapped in vehicles. There were 941 injuries and 31 fatalities, figures similar to the previous year.
An exhibition in the Puerta del Sol demonstrated the coordination and technical capabilities of institutions in a road incident within a Joint Action Zone (ZAC), an area where 145 joint operations between regional and capital city firefighters took place in 2025.
Over twenty units from across Spain will compete in scenarios recreating real situations, with teams of six professionals tasked with resolving extrication and trauma maneuvers within a maximum of 25 minutes.
ENRATT will also serve to select the teams that will represent Spain at the 2026 World Rescue Challenge, to be held in Rio de Janeiro.
