Las Rozas solidifies its standing as a national innovation leader, ranking in the TOP 10 for cities with the most technology companies and startups, according to the 2026 National Report on Tech and Innovative Companies.

The Madrid municipality of Las Rozas has reaffirmed its position as a significant innovation hub in Spain. This is highlighted in the 2026 National Report on Tech and Innovative Companies, compiled by Scoutyn and published by El Referente, which places the city in tenth position in the national ranking of municipalities with the highest number of technology companies. Furthermore, Las Rozas has climbed one spot, also reaching tenth place in the ranking of cities with the most startups.
This report, utilizing data from the Mercantile Registry, underscores that Las Rozas is the first non-provincial capital city to feature in the top positions of this ranking. It is also the only municipality in the Community of Madrid, besides the capital itself, to be among the top ten cities in the country for both indicators, competing with major metropolises such as Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia, Bilbao, Zaragoza, Málaga, and Sevilla.
The Spanish technological ecosystem has experienced significant growth, reaching 10,294 active companies, a 20% increase from the previous year, generating an economic impact of 19,442 million euros in 2025 and creating 137,042 jobs. Regionally, Las Rozas ranks as the second city in the Community of Madrid with the most technology companies and startups, surpassed only by the capital. The report also details that Las Rozas' technology companies have generated 1,313 direct jobs and a combined annual turnover exceeding 155 million euros.
The report also analyzes sector distribution. Artificial Intelligence emerges as the third vertical with the most tech companies in Spain and the fastest-growing sector in 2025, an area where Las Rozas ranks 14th nationally. The SaaS sector remains the country's leading technological vertical, with Las Rozas ranking as the sixth hub with 25 companies. Other notable sectors for the municipality include EHealth (9th position), Foodtech (8th), Energy (8th), Edtech (9th), Fintech (4th), Cybersecurity (7th), and Retail (6th), among others.
