The Minister of Education, Science and Universities, Mercedes Zarzalejos, presented this initiative at the Arenales Carabanchel school in the capital, observing how the advice is being conveyed to students and families.
The plan offers a series of recommendations for enjoying books during the holiday period, suggesting the establishment of daily routines in a comfortable and well-lit space at home, obtaining a reader's card, and participating in activities such as storytelling, workshops, or meetings with authors.
It is advised to take light reading material outdoors, combine reading with other games, listen to audiobooks during travel, or choose texts that encourage observation of the surroundings. All these tips are included in an illustrated guide that will be distributed to educational centers.
For young children in Early Childhood Education, illustrated albums with brief texts and complementary materials like puppets or cards are proposed, as well as cumulative books or those offering multisensory experiences.
For Primary school students, the recommendations include non-fiction books, adventure, mystery, humor, comics, graphic novels, as well as texts on science, history, geography, theater, poetry, or those focused on emotional management.
