The Governing Council of the Community of Madrid has approved an expansion of the investment allocated to finance economic benefits of the System for Autonomy and Dependency Care, reaching 418 million euros for the year 2026.

This measure represents a 10 million euro increase compared to the initial forecast, aiming to ensure the payment of already recognized aid, settle pending obligations, and partially cover the growing demand for Individual Care Programs. It is estimated that over 93,000 citizens will benefit from these provisions.

"This expansion will guarantee the payment of already recognized aid, address pending obligations, and partially cover the new demand for Individual Care Programs."

The expansion includes new specific aid for individuals diagnosed with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) in advanced stages, characterized by complete dependency and the need for instrumental and personal support, especially due to respiratory problems and dysphagia. For these patients and other highly complex processes, the new Grade III+ of extreme dependency has been established, which improves the amounts for home care services and personal assistance.
The aid is structured into three main modalities: care in the family environment, service-linked benefits, and personal assistance. The first modality provides a monthly economic contribution to cover support received at home from a family caregiver. The second complements the cost of accredited private services, such as home care, residential care, day centers, or personal autonomy promotion programs. Finally, the third facilitates greater independence through the support of a personal assistant for daily activities and the development of the beneficiary's life project.
The Community of Madrid will make the first aid recognized in April for these cases effective during the month of May.
