The Governing Council has approved an extraordinary plan to mitigate the impact of the wildfires in the Sierra Oeste. These measures are designed to provide an immediate housing solution for citizens unable to return to their homes due to structural damage.
The program includes temporary relocation through properties managed by the Social Housing Agency, utilizing emergency social procedures. Additionally, direct grants will cover up to 100% of rental costs for a 12-month period for households rendered temporarily uninhabitable.
The plan also incorporates a grant scheme aimed at accelerating the repair and reconstruction of affected properties. Both homeowners and tenants whose primary residence was damaged by the fires are eligible to apply for this support.
