The Contentious-Administrative Chamber of the Madrid Court of Instance has issued a final ruling exempting Atlético de Madrid from paying the amount claimed by the council. The legal costs of the process will be borne by the Collado Villalba City Council.
The debt corresponded to the use of the facilities for six months, during which CUC Villalba, the colchonero club's second reserve team, trained at the Sports City. The City Council had previously dismissed the appeal filed by CUC Villalba – Atlético de Madrid.
The final ruling, issued on March 16, annuls the payment order related to CUC Villalba's training sessions. It can be inferred from the amount claimed that the 870.30 euros for official matches played at the Antonio Ledesma Sports City are outside the scope of this ruling.
Following the dispute, the CUC Villalba team moved its activities to Alcalá de Henares, playing the last four league matches at Atlético de Madrid's Sports City in that town. Subsequently, the CUC Villalba structure was integrated into the colchonero club, ceasing to exist after 53 years of history.
