The C-5 line of Madrid's Cercanías commuter rail system experienced a significant interruption on Friday afternoon, affecting the section between Atocha and Laguna for over two hours. The incident stemmed from a person being struck at the Embajadores station.

The incident, which occurred around 4:10 PM, led to a complete halt in service on that route. Sources from Adif confirmed the disruption and its impact on operations.
As a mitigating measure, Renfe implemented a shuttle train service. These trains connected Humanes with Atocha and Móstoles-El Soto with Laguna, aiming to reduce delays and the modifications to usual routes that trains across the entire line faced.
Normal service frequencies gradually resumed after circulation was restored around 6:30 PM, once the necessary procedures following the removal of the body were completed.
